Tash was born in Queens, New York and raised in California since the age 5. Her parents Jackie and Kevin recognized her passion for music early. Tash started classical music training at the piano at the age of five after her move to California.
With her basis in classical music, there arose a natural instinct to expand and compliment the many and often chartered waters of music’s distinctions. Early 80´s Tash was invited to several soul tours, which immediately opened an even wider musical world for her.
Her vocal influences include Chaka Khan, Tremaine Hawkins, Oleta Adams, Billy Holiday, Sade, Lauren Hill, Jill Scott, Eryka Badu, Mable Staples, Sarah Vaughn, India Arie, Minnie Ripperton and Wanda Hutchinson (The Emotions) and Sade.
Her Velvety Vocals won her numerous Talent Shows in her hometown. She has performed before such prestigious audiences as Blacks in Government (BIG), the NAACP, the Urban League, Freedom Inc., and for numerous weddings, churches and community events.
Her passion for Soul music was influenced as a youth from some of the most controversial events of our time, The Vietnam War, Civil Rights and Black Power Movements of the 70's, via the music of The Legendary Bob Marley and I-Three's, The Wailers, Steel Pulse and Third World to name a few.
