Biography
RYAN FIELD
Ryan has been singing for ten years and studied at Viva Voce voice studio in Toronto. Field brings many musical influences into his studio projects, as reflected in his upcoming album, "The New Beginning.” Electric 'R'N'Soul, is a sound and style which he and Mississauga producer Dominic "Dot" Okune have slated for this Summer 2010 release.
Playing violin for fifteen years, he studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and with Canadian violinist Anne Lindsay. He has spent the last two years collecting sound bites in Harlem and Manhattan which are meshed into the tracks.
The tone of the album is real, inspiring and powerful and takes one's self through a whole range of experiences and situations which Ryan paints with his classic sounding voice.
Ryan Field has performed in many venues across Toronto such as: Lee’s Palace, Jeff Healey’s Night Club, The Big Bop, The Rivoli, The Free Times Café, The Reverb, Harbourfront Centre Theatre, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, The Reservoir Lounge, and Le Saint Tropez.
An accomplished actor, Ryan attended Claude Watson School for the Arts as a child and teenager, a school credited for raising great Canadian talent such as Sara Polly & Jake Epstein. He played young Lean Phelps in the Paramount film, "The Ladies Man." He is also a grad of George Brown Theatre School and has frequenly performed with Soulpepper Theatre.
Field was a TVOKids host/producer for three years as well, transforming him into a frequent, but welcome visitor in many Ontario households. It also included a live touring segment.
This well rounded artistic history feeds his personal music, whether classical, jazz or pop in nature.
